Ultra hip, ultra cozy and ultra tasty describe the swanky decor and flavorful Italian-American fare at Dolce Bistro/Ultra Lounge in downtown St. Louis. The bistro reflects the trendy, yet classy feel. A glowing light rests under the countertop of the bar, illuminating the area with a soft, purple-white light. The bar stools have jagged backs, like lightning bolts. White linen cloths cover tables, some with chairs, and others designed as oversized booths.
Behind the bar is a smaller room with black padded walls for small gatherings. Dolce offers more private seating upstairs. Climb the metal staircase to a retro '60s-style lounge area with light blue armchairs. Booths are semiprivate with chain-mail curtain at the sides. Tables have a hole in the middle to accommodate ice buckets filled with wine and spirits.
Dolce is available for private parties and VIP events.
